Cindy penned Sheebah’s first song

Cindy Sanyu (L), Sheebah Karungi (R)

A few weeks ago, Cinderella Sanyu made the announcement that she would be performing on September 15 at Kololo Airstrip, the same location Sheebah had previously indicated for her Yolo Festival. During the press conference however, Cindy shared how she helped Sheebah’s musical career by penning her debut song as a solo artist.

“By the time Sheebah started singing, I had gone solo for about five years, so I natured her, I wrote her first single ‘Ngenda Kunyenyeza’ and I went with her to Washington’s studio. I nurtured Sheebah for a full year,” Cindy said.

In Sheebah’s own press conference, sQoop asked the self-proclaimed Swag Maama whether Cindy’s allegations are true. Despite their differences, she agreed that it was Cindy who penned the song.

For nearly two weeks, it has been rumored that the said Cindy concert and Sheebah’s anticipated festival were indeed the same event, a music battle.

This was confirmed during the week by Victoria University vice chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga at a press conference. He also noted that the university was behind it.
