Bobi thrills London revelers at ‘The Return of the Gladiator’

 

 

 

Bobi Wine on Saturday night delivered a captivating performance that compelled revelers to endure several hours on their legs as they chanted and danced to his songs spanning from late 1990s to date.

The show dubbed ‘The Return of the Gladiator’ marked an end to 10-year ban from performing in the UK.

He showcased a mix of politically and socially conscious songs he’s performed over the years, starting with Akagoma’, drawing cheers from an enthusiastic crowd adorned with red berets, giving the event, a powerful atmosphere.

Bobi’s wife, Barbie Itungo, was one of the hundreds of audience members at the Intercontinental Hotel, Peninsula Ballroom Greenwich in East London. The ticket to the show was went for between £70 and £100.

The concert backed by a live band and featuring Nubian Li and Gen Mega D who flew from his US home as guest performers, lasted for at least five hours.

Notable personalities, including writer Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, who is in exile in Germany, and Europe-based bloggers, graced the show.
