I have full control over my X account – Azawi

Azawi

There have been several trends earlier today on X, including Bebe Cool, Anita Must Resign, March to Parliament, and Azawi. Azawi has been trending for a number of reasons, including her vocal stance against corruption.

The “Masavu” artiste has been among the vocal celebrities on X talking about this issue. However, during the peaceful March to Parliament, her post was deleted, which caused concern among netizens. Many took their anger out on Swangz Avenue bosses, claiming they were responsible for deleting the posts. Some even threatened to boycott the Iryn Namubiru concert organized by Swangz Avenue.

However, Azawi has clarified the issue in another post, stating that she deleted her post herself.

“I want to clarify that I personally deleted my post because I have full control over my Twitter account. Trust me, I didn’t do it to please those at fault in this country. I can never give such cowards that satisfaction,” she said.

The Swangz Avenue artiste further added that she realized some individuals intended to misuse her voice for malicious purposes, and she did not want to give them that opportunity.

“However, this does not mean that my stance on ‘Abakamuzi’ has changed. I firmly believe that the voices of our country’s youth need to be heard and respected, and our leaders MUST be accountable to the people they serve.”

She also assured her fans and others involved in this struggle that she is still with them and that their voices will be heard one day.
