The track- Can we stay by Solome Basuuta

Solome

When traditional African talking drums form the base around which a body of musical work from a mainstream artiste is built then you know that is going to be a hit.
Solome Basuuta has proven brave enough to stake her career in such unpopular kind of art. Her latest song titled ‘Can we stay’ is one of her manifestation of love. Its direction is retro, yet packing a refreshing modern twist to it. A special piece of beauty, Solome draws inspiration from the love in the first verse as she tells her lover not to leave her side, singing sweet nothings to him with a wide array of traditional and contemporary musical influences ranging from highlife to casual feelings . The song is surely a a song for every mood and occasion. In the second verse Solome chooses at this point to sing in luganda, her native language. There’s heartache in here, and longing for more than what love is; ‘Love you til I die’, she makes the ultimate promise to her man as being her dream come true. She brings pure joy as she makes music. The cue in the piano and a different class of percussion, Solome gives attention to her vocals as the plucky guitar accompanies her on his soulful ballad.
