RETRO: Step aside skinny jeans, we are going big or going big now. The ‘90s baggy jeans are back and we like.
This is not only one of the most sought after invites in the music industry, it is also a stage for some of the most stunning fashion choices to be served. And while the dress code for this event is audacious, a little effort with the style choices is always necessary and needed, if one is going to make it to the best dressed lists.
The Billboard Music Awards took place this past weekend at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and was hosted by Hiphop star, Sean Combs. And the stars in attendance didn’t come to play, as they definitely were giving a fashion storm, with their wardrobe choices.
These are some of the looks that stood out at the star studded event.
The Nigerian musical giant stepped onto the grey carpet in a matching two piece by Gerrit Jacob. His accessories of choice were his sunglasses, layered neck pieces and tractor sole shoes. The choice to go shirtless allowed for his two piece to stand out, and make the statement it was meant to.
The Heartbreak Anniversary singer opted for a green suited look by Bottega Veneta, that was spiced up with black thick soled steppers and jewellery by Tiffany & Co. We love a suit that isn’t dressed up too formally, and this right here is a great way to achieve that look.
You can never go wrong with a black and gold combo and this look by singer Chloe is evident of that. She wore a black leather dress, with a midriff cut out by designer Valdrin Shahiti. The dressed featured some dramatic shoulder pads, and was completed with some gold accents on her wrists and ears.
Possibly the most dramatic look of the night, Doja Cat’s fashion choice was a topless gown by Schiaparelli, that was accessorised with gold pasties, and added a Saturn shaped purse to her arm. The major drama though was with her ear shaped earrings. That is definitely one way to turn all heads!
