The event of Uganda Breweries Limited marking 70 years in business a few days ago at Kampala Sheraton Gardens also doubled as the best moment for some to take the calendar back to the 1970s.
The dress code of the night which involved attire of the 70s was respected by most of the revellers. Many were seen wearing the afro-wig on their heads; the Afro hairstyle was the in-thing in the 70s. The men added onto the look bell-bottom trousers and oversized tie and dye shirts.
The ladies rocked the long dresses with some of them made of shiny material. They also wore shades that you will look for in Kampala malls and fail to find.
The theme was not just about the dress code but also the way people conducted themselves at the event. Two ladies rocked the red carpet for a photo-shoot; you should have seen their pose, as they smiled for the camera, they were seated down like they were somewhere in the village on a mat.
When it came to drinking beer, many asked for the mugs and ignored the beer glasses that were available at the event.
The event which ended at around midnight had the guest dancing to the tunes of the 70s but you should have seen the dance moves; even those in their 30s pulled dance strokes of the 70s like they had spent the rest of their years rehearsing.
