Comedy stars returning for Africa Laughs

comedy

For the past few years, comedy has been on a very steady fast rise in our Banana Republic. And with musicians engulfed in a war of taking political sides, comedy comfortably filled the gap over the Easter holidays.

From the ‘I am Kansiime’ show at Imperial Royale Hotel, to the ‘Entujjo Ya Comedy’ show at Laftaz Lounge, which also later spread to Mukono and Jinja. All comedy shows were a huge success! And this must have inspired Patrick Idringi aka Salvado to revamp his Africa Laughs comedy show.
Earlier this week, Salvado announced the return of Africa Laughs Season 3 in June. And just like the past two seasons, the show will see Uganda host some of the continent’s leading comedy stars.
“As expected, my brother Bright Okpocha aka Basket Mouth will be here to support me and so will many other leading comedians,” Salvado said.
Salvado told us the lineup for Africa Laughs season 3 will include Nigerian star Klint the Drunk, Eric Omondi from Kenya, Mpho from South Africa, Daliso from Malawi, Carl Ncube from Zimbabwe and Eddie Kardi from Ghana. The Ugandan performers will include Ann Kansiime, Ronnie McVex as well as Alex Muhangi. According to Salvado, due to public demand, top local performers MadRat and Chicko are also likely to make it to the list. The show is slated to take place on June 2 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
