Different from most festival arrangements in Uganda, every year, organisers of the festival search for fresh artists to mentor whose graduation comes at the festival.

“As an aim of contributing to a larger pool of authentic, creative and original music talent in Uganda, a number of artistes are auditioned and those with the most potential are selected, trained and prepared to create on their own,” Suzan Kerunen, the festival co-director explains.

This year’s graduates include; Artistes Tushi Nabakyala , Whooshsential,  Vics de lugaphoenix,  Karungi Sheila and the indigenous Batwa community from  the pearl rhythm stage coach community outreach programme.

There will also be performances by Charlotte Hill O’Neal alias ‘Mama C’, an accomplished poet, musician and former member of the US political organisation, the Black Panthers.

Other artistes will include Busoga based Sandra K, guitarist Andereya Baguma, Czarbu, Noah infexious, Brian Aliddeki among others.
