Tanzanian rapper Mwana FA appointed Minister

Mwana FA

During the East Africa TV and Radio days, when Tanzanian music was on top of its game, it was because of artistes like Mwana FA. He was among that generation of artistes who lifted Bongo flava to where it was at the time. However, as you read this, the rapper is now more into politics and has been appointed Deputy Minister for Culture, Arts, and Sports by the Tanzania President Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan.

According to sources, the State House Permanent Secretary, Dr Moses Kusiluka appointed Mwana FA to the role as a replacement for Pauline Gekul, who’s been appointed deputy Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs.

Mwana FA is hailed as a legendary musician famous for hit songs like ‘Alikufa Kwangoma’, ‘We Endelea Tu’, and ‘Unanijua Unainiskia’ among others.

Mwana FA real name Hamis Mwinjuma is a politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament representing the Muheza constituency since November 2020 and also a board member of the country’s National Arts Council (BASATA).
