A few years back, Club Dome was always carried out at different universities but last Friday, the event was held at a newly discovered venue called MTN warehouse, along Jinja road.
The event was a collective venue for students from all walks of life, perhaps because there was no cover charge. What the organizers had done, was carry out activations in different universities where students won tickets prior to the event. By 10pm, the warehouse was filled to capacity.
It was decorated with neon lights that gave it a different feel and on entrance; there were boda bodas and taxis parked with neon lights. At some parts of hall, were video games and virtual reality games while on the gigantic stage were deejays mixes different jams.
The first act of the night was Vinka whose performance came at 11.30pm. Clad in a golden shiny short dress, she performed tracks like Overdose, love doctor, chips na ketchup, Malaika and lastly Tubikole, being joined by Fik Fameica. The audience’s reaction towards this jam was breathtaking because of their expectation towards Fik Fameica. The rapper remained on stage and got positive vibes throughout his performance. One thing he has been able to master for the little year’s he’s been in the industry is stage performance. He knows what songs to sing and on what occasions. On this particular incident, he knew what campusers wanted and his playlist included tracks like property, gwe abisobola, byenyenya, Sconto, mafia and kutama. The audience sung along to the lyrics thus making him the headlining artiste.
By midnight, no more people were allowed to enter despite the fact that many had tickets. After Tip Swizzy’s surprise performance, the stage was left for the deejays, who included Apeman, Stuart and Roja among others to showcase what they had.
