Last month, Burundian singers Chako Music Group came to Uganda to perform and just when we thought they would be back to Burundi. Turns out they are still in Uganda. And it is not because they want, but because they were stranded after their passports were confiscated over debts.
According to a source close to the group, the singers booked a hotel in Ntinda and they were meant to pay the bill after the show but it was unfortunate that their manager had planned otherwise.
Apparently after the show, the manager sneaked back to Burundi alone, with the Shs12m that he received on behalf of the group.
The manager’s phones are even off and as you read this, the singers are crushing at a friend’s home as they await their fate.
