Forget WizKid, Tekno is coming to town people! Okay, the last time we reported that the Pana singer might be coming to town, rumour was that city socialite Herbert Shonga was bringing him.
Now rumour aside, true story is that Talent Africa boss Aly Alibhai is behind the deal that will see the Nigerian singer perform for the first time perform in Uganda. We cannot question this much, considering Shonga’s PR Brian Isanga told us that they spent their ‘Tekno money’ on buying Space Lounge.
Our efforts to reach Alibhai for comment were unfruitful but a source close to him told us that the plan is for Tekno to perform here in October. No surprise about Alibhai’s tight lip, seeing that the guy gave us no heads up when he planned to jet in Kool and the Gang or Jamaican reggae star Chronixx.
Tekno is apparently one of the most expensive artistes to book in Africa. He is popular for songs Duro, Pana, Diana, Wash and Rara among others.
