Following the ongoing rumors of what exactly happened for Wizkid not to show up for his show in Uganda, we have been able to scoop information out of the organizers and the sponsors of the highly anticipated show that was scheduled to place on Saturday tomorrow.
According To PJ, one of the members on the Face TV committee which is organizing the show, the reason behind the artiste’s absenteeism is that he’s not feeling well.
“Wizkid was well aware of his show in Kampala and that is exactly why he agreed to make a video clip announcing the show. He’s not feeling well at the moment; that is why he wasn’t able to fly in for the show. We expect an official statement from him in 48 hours,” PJ confirmed.
He confirmed that show won’t take place this Saturday but insisted it’s just postponed and that a new date would be set.
This information was also confirmed by Star Times, one of the sponsors of the event because Wizkid was going to perform on a day they were celebrating their 6th anniversary.
Speaking to Sqoop, Aldrine Nsubuga, the Star Times Marketing Director said that they are looking for a new date probably next weekend to have him perform.
“We are hoping there will be an opportunity next weekend to have Wizkid perform in Uganda”, He said before adding that however disappointed they are, they still believe in the artiste and are behind him.
