If posts on social media are anything to go by, then singer Bebe Cool’s candid support for President Museveni might have made him more enemies than friends.
The singer has had a colossal share of the recent anger expressed by several Ugandans on social media after Museveni was announced the next president last weekend.
But to be candid, by continuously and severally engaging people on his social media, Bebe probably played a role in inciting and escalating the people’s anger.
However, earlier this week, the singer issued a statement in which he urged his Facebook friends to “put aside political differences…”
In the same statement, Bebe also announced that he would hold his annual Serena Hotel concert on August 5 and that this year’s concert will be themed ‘The Life of Bebe Cool’.
The statement attracted both likes and abuse, but that is a story for another day.
Today’s story is that Bebe recently rewarded his close protégés for a job well done during the just-concluded presidential campaigns.
Bebe bought new cars for his bouncer Abbas Kabyobo aka Cobra – the guy that took bullets for him years ago, his disc spinner – DJ Bryan Ting, back-up singer Ronnie Mutanazi as well as Gagamel band manager Josh (pictured).
After sticking by their boss as they traversed the country together, Cobra and Mutabazi are now proud owners of Toyota Premios while Josh went for a Toyota Altezza, and DJ Bryan got a Toyota Progres.
