Angelina Jolie’s lips are bee-stung but she’s regarded to be among the women with the sexiest lips in the world so what could possibly be the reason why our very own Aamito Lagum was racially abused because of her lips.
Well, the Ugandan supermodel who recently showcased for Kanye West’s fashion line at Madison Square Garden a few days ago fell victim to racist slurs when MAC cosmetics shared a photo of her lips and what she did was to basically fight back against the slurs by sharing an illustration of her lips and captioned it, “My lips giving you sleepless nights” on her Instagram.
As she was doing this, Mac Cosmetics also defended her by releasing an official statement that read. “MAC stands for and respects all ages, all races, all sexes. We celebrate the beauty of individuality, and the confidence to be who you are.”
As if that wasn’t enough, several other models joined the cause by sharing their lips on their social media accounts using the hashtag #PrettyLipsPeriod which is a campaign aimed at fighting discriminatory beauty standards.
