Mama Mia

Mama Mia

What makes Mama Mia! tick is the music. It over shadows everything else and believe you me, you won’t help singing along. You might even get a hair brush and pretend it is a microphone. And you will sing along to Abba songs like I have a Dream, Super Trouper, SOS, Money, Money, Money and my favourite of all Mama Mia, after which the movie is named. Mama Mia! a 2008 movie, that you will want to watch again and again.

Set at an old Island, Donna (Meryl Streep) heads the cast, playing the role of single mother to Sophie (Amanda Seyfried). Sophie is getting married in a few days and wants a perfect wedding where her father gives her away. However, her mother doesn’t know who her father is. She was with Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgård  at the same time. Sophie invites all the three possible fathers to the wedding, hoping that instinct will help her tell who her father is. But it doesn’t help. Instead, she ends up with three men all insisting that they walk her down the aisle. The wedding turns out to be a mess. A beautiful mess though. The actors and setting is good but like I said, it is music that does wonders for this movie. Watch it for the music.
