Douglas Lwanga launches Purple Skills to inspire the youth

Douglas Lwanga has launched his Purple Skills Klinic Foundation to promote and support access to quality and relevant integrated training interventions, career development and skills training opportunities through a series of programs for the youth.

The former The Beat presenter says the project is here to solve unemployment, through the different steps including.

Skills Training Workshops

The Skills Klinic Foundation shall organize skilling workshops bringing together resource persons who will mentor youth in various Skills disciplines. All the workshops shall be free of charge for the targeted youth.

Internships placements

The Skills Klinic Foundation shall work in conjunction with the resource persons to identify and offer internship placements for the trainees. Internship placements will allow trainees to practice their skills in a work environment gaining work experience (Workshops, farms Etc)

Partnerships with Vocational Institutions

The Skills Klinic shall enter into partnerships with vocational institutions that shall offer bursaries for the Skills Klinic Trainees at no cost. This will help trainees further their Skills Education.

Capital to the trained youth

At the end of the Training, they shall organize youths in groups and lobby for capital information of machinery that they can use to put skills into practice.

Career Guidance (Secondary students/ University students)

This is part of the schools educational program where a Skills Klinic Foundation officer goes out to a school/university and conducts career guidance, to assist learners in career decision making.

Among the community development skills include liquid soap making, braiding and weaving, art skills, secretarial, carpentry, metal fabrication, catering and baking as well as beauty and makeup.

This is for all young people who desire to set improve their competitiveness in the community.
