Legendary Ugandan Hip-Hop artiste Daniel Kigozi alias Navio has unveiled his Navio X Project Cultural Hip-Hop Album Kampala.

This is the first Cultural Hip-Hop album, a testament to the fusion of tradition and innovation where the artiste takes listeners on a musical journey that pays homage to Uganda’s diverse cultural heritage.

The artiste together with his team traversed different parts of Uganda and recorded songs that were compiled on this album.

Speaking during a press conference at Sheraton Hotel, Navio said the X in the Navio project translates to the number of districts he has been to and further reveals that more are yet to come.

“This is the first of its kind in Uganda. The first volume of many to come and the album is going to be live at midnight on our social media handles,” he said.

Furthermore on this album is that Maggie Kigozi’s son did not make any lyrics but went with just notes. He also added that the adventure part of it was interesting because they did not use any studio while producing it. They just captured sound in its purest form.

The songs on this album include Tyabu Tyabu featuring Nile Beat, Nangoria Ft Giraffe Clan, Joy Ft Ayesiga, The Mountain, Lidembe, Ekori Ft G-Willz 7 Giraffe Clan, Atengo Mwana Ft Haruna Walusimbi & Abaasa, Odoch Otiene Ft Gulu Dance Masters, Ndabaho and Sebei.

The 11-track album was produced by Baru Beats while Abaasa co-produced songs 1, 2, 3 and 7.

Navio’s X emerges as a revolutionary heritage project, blending music creation with cultural exploration to birth a groundbreaking multimedia TV show.

Each episode of the Navio X project delves deep into the history, traditions, and unique identity of a different Ugandan tribe. From vibrant music and dance to ancient rituals and culinary delights, the show celebrates the diversity that defines Uganda’s cultural landscape.

The 1st season saw them going to districts like Jinja Moroto Karamoja Fort portal Gulu Kabale and Kapchwora among others.

With over two decades of shaping the hip-hop landscape in Uganda, Navio has captivated audiences worldwide with his magnetic performances and genre-defying music.

The mission of the Navio X project is to preserve, promote, and protect Uganda’s indigenous cultures engagingly and educationally.

By showcasing the beauty and significance of these cultural treasures, Navio X aims to inspire pride in local communities and attract visitors from near and far. Looking ahead, the Navio X project envisions expanding its scope to encompass other African countries, fostering cross-cultural exchange and unity on the continent.
