Telecom Company MTN has officially announced its sponsorship and involvement in the Miss Uganda Pageant. This was announced this afternoon at the MTN offices located at Nyonyi Gardens in Kololo.
This year’s Miss Uganda was launched last month and the search is on ahead of the Grand Finale that will take place next month at Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
Organised by Kezzi Entertainment in partnership with Talent Africa, Miss Uganda has been happening ever since 1998 and took a two year’s break and returned last year when Quinn Abenakyo emerged winner and also contested in the Miss World Pageant where she came out in the fourth position.
Miss Uganda Pageant was revived by Ali Alibhai under his events company Talent Africa who brought in his expertise to see that the pageant that was powerful in the past years regain its position as one of the biggest pageants in Uganda.
While at the Press Conference, MTN Youth Segment Manager Hellen Kirungi said that their brand values the youths a lot and when it comes to supporting them, they never hesitate to come through.
She went on to say that Miss Uganda will work closely with the MTN Foundation since they have a similar goal that focuses on Maternal and Girl Child Health. At the Grand finale of the pageant, it is said that the reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce will grace the ceremony that is expected to pull a crowd of up to 2000 guests.
