Airtel field presenter and events host Douglas Suubi, aka Daggy Nyce, is set to wed next month. Our apologies to the ladies that had some hope in Daggy Nyce going down on one knee and popping the question.
All is set for Daggy Nyce and fiancée Heather Lambereh, to tie the knot come September 12. Unlike many Ugandan weddings, where the bride and groom exchange vows in church, Daggy and Heather will do theirs the Australian way. “We shall exchange our vows at the venue of the reception. The reverend will come and conduct mass at the venue,” Daggy told us during their wedding launch held at Laftaz Lounge, Centenary Park on Sunday.
During the launch, they treated friends and relatives to lots of drinks and food. And after Daggy announcing that the launch was the only wedding meeting, pledges from the friends and relatives in attendance poured in.
Some relatives and friends from outside Uganda also called in and were put on loud speaker to mention their pledges. At the end of the night, Daggy and Heather had received about Shs15m in cash and more than Shs45m in pledges.
The budget for the entire wedding stands at Shs67m. “I cant’ believe this, I’m grateful to my family and friends, may God bless them. Now let me concentrate on preparing for the big day,” he said.
The ceremony will be held at Esella Country Hotel in Najjeera.
