The track :Why remix – Mampi feat Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine

This is exactly what Ragga Dee should have done. Pick up the phone, dial Zambia and properly ask to redo the woman’s song with her, the way decent people do. But no. Ragga Dee instead chose to make an adulterated facsimile of her Swilili, and boy, have you ever heard noises in your ears!

Bobi Wine, here, showed just how to gatecrash the party of a charting hit, by featuring on the remix of Why, and coming off as if he and Mampi had always been meant for each other, musically speaking, of course. It is a cry of a hurting lover, asking why they are getting crappy treatment in their relationship. It is such a colourful song, with Mampi singing in that Zambian dialect that sounds so Ugandan, you want to grant her citizenship immediately. It is easy on the ear, and easily induces you into dancing.

Bobi Wine’s involvement on the song adds a sense of macho-ness, and yes, you cannot have missed that part where he talks about a Muna’Masaka and a Muna’Lusaka, playing at the two locations in both countries.
Yes Ragga Dee, this is how you should do it, next time.
