BADILISHA – CHAMELEONE

Jose Chameleone

Jose Chameleone

We all know just how good this guy is. But to be honest, we just will not stand there and assume he is at his ‘A’ game on this song. That would be to stretch it, and to get ahead of ourselves. Although, yes, it goes without saying, there is still enough of the Jose Chameleone signature to make it a commercially viable song.

It is a love song of a gravely heartbroken man, choosing to pick up his bags and storm out of a relationship with a woman he loves so deeply, but who has changed her ways into something that is hurting him. And Chameleone manages to sound the part of the paining and broken-hearted man when he sings, just like you knew he would.

The trouble is that this is simply a good song. It is just another good song, and, blame it on no other than Chameleone himself, we have grown used to him giving us something extra ordinary, something out of the usual cycle of ‘goods’ because good has become too main stream.

Badilisha will remind us that there is still a musical great in our midst; it may even sell a few concerts here and there, considering that he is holding a concert next weekend, but it is not the antique Chameleone we know.
