Scene in the Video
Recently I visited a bar called Asylum. It’s situated on Namugongo Road. Now for all you party animals and those that love good music and I don’t mean these Luganda songs mbu “Kabite wange”, the place to be is Asylum. The guys played music from the 90s then they mixed in Lingala, then RnB, Old and New Skool, then Ugandan music… it was, to use my young cousin’s language… “a ballistic night!”
One track the DJ dropped that I felt, was entitled Zina done by Viboyo, Vampino and Benon of Swangz Avenue. It’s the beat and the video that impressed me and since my rubbish column simanya “reviews” videos, I will stick in my lane, I will “review” the video.
The video of Zina had similarities in issues like energy, concept and colour with the video of Vampino’s track entitled…ehh….I have forgotten it… it was a remix that had Keko on it with Cindy and Juliana … goodness I have forgotten the track.
However if you liked that video of Vamposs that was shot in Club Silk then you will like Zina that too was shot in a club setting! The same idea of having a huge “passé” in the video, doing the same dance strokes, with the camera angles doing justice to the faces of the video vixens …
The only problem was similarity. Why have the same concept with a previous video? Are the creative juices drying up? But the video is a good look anyway.
Crazy track. Good video.
