He might not be as hot as he was during his earlier days on the music scene, but singer Toniks’ music has surely gone places. After being nominated in West African awards earlier in the year, Toniks has been nominated in the Namibian music awards.
Toniks’ new song titled That Gal fetched him a nod in the best vocalist category. Yes, the song is not quite as popular back home, but Toniks defended himself saying, “This song was never released in Uganda, but only in Southern Africa,” Toniks said.
Toniks’ duet with Namibian divas Gal Level titled Money got two nods under best video and best collaboration. Voting for Toniks can be done online by googling Namibia Music awards 2011. Voting started on March 28 and ends May 19. Go Toniks!
