I am taking evangelism classes so this movie being Christian gives me the urge to go preacher and all. This movie tells a story of a boy Leon (Gregory Kriek) who was abandoned by his parents and inhumanely taken away from his guardian.
As he forges through life he tries to rely on prayer like his guardian taught him. But when life only gets harder, he stops praying, becomes hard hearted, selfish, wallows in self-pity and the bar becomes his solace.
This movie is based on a real story. It is “raw” and real. It shows Jesus is everything that anyone will ever need. It shows how God turns the hurt, frustration and emptiness of a man into hope, faith and victory to inspire many to be the winners they were born to be.
There are many biblical teachings in here. It teaches that death is merely a transition to be with Jesus forever. That God doesn’t not come and go but stays with us all the time.
But most importantly, it teaches that no one us has the ability to change any situation. It is only when we truly give and surrender our lives to God and allow him to change us that we start to live and be free.
Because the plot is very intriguing, it was to pay enough attention to the way the characters were acting but on a whole, they could have been more compelling..
