Bobi Wine sets album concert for next month

For the first time in so many years, Bobi Wine will not wait for October to have his album launch; no. The singer announced that he will drop his new album and a concert early next month – May 2.

Dubbed ‘Munna Uganda Situka Mudembe,’ Bobi said the concert will be held at Namboole stadium.
The Situka singer explained that his concert theme accrues from his three election-related songs that he released during the just-concluded presidential campaigns; they include- Ndi Muna Uganda, Situka and Dembe.
The three songs all raised so much dust; ‘Dembe’ was at one time allegedly banned by UCC. And in February, Bobi reported that the studios where his “Ndi Muna Uganda” video was being edited were raided and the ‘unknown’ perpetuators allegedly made off with equipment that had most of the footage.
Bobi will be the second artiste to hold a concert in Namboole after the “Toka Kwa barabara” singer who launched his song there in January.
Bobi said his concert is aimed at bringing together Ugandans of all classes to enjoy peacefully; “that’s why I am asking for only Shs5,000 as entry fee.”
Many believe that Bobi is an opposition sympathiser; while his colleagues rushed to dine and perform for President Museveni, the singer was busy posing for photos with Opposition strongman Kizza Besigye. Bobi has visited Dr Besigye a couple of times since his detention that has been ongoing for several weeks.
