Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine (Logan) in this sequel to X-Men Origins Wolverine. It is the sixth installment in the X-Men film series, and follows the events of X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).

Following the death of many X-Men, Logan is distressed and haunted by nightmares of the woman he loves, (Jean) who he was forced to kill. He decides to go far away in the wilderness, in Canada, to have some time to himself. While there, he meets some hunters who try to beat him up. It is here that he meets Yukio, a woman with mutant powers enabling her to see people’s deaths. She works with Yashida, the CEO of a technology corporation, who is dying of cancer. Logan remembers having been saved by Yashida when he was a prisoner at a Japanese Prison of War camp near Nagasaki during its bombing in 1945. Yashida wants Logan to accompany Yukio to Japan to say goodbye to him as he dies.

In Tokyo, Logan meets Yashida’s son Shingen and granddaughter, Mariko. Yashida offers to conduct a transplant, removing Logan’s immortality and transferring it to himself thereby giving Logan a chance to die. Logan refuses and prepares to leave the following day. Will he be able to just walk out? You need to watch it to find out.
Jackman says he enjoyed his role in Wolverine 2. “There are so many areas of that Japanese story, I love the idea of this kind of anarchic character, the outsider, being in this world,” he told The Guardian newspaper.

As with all such movies there are subplots of romance and family feuds. The stunts by the Samurai are also noteworthy. It is interesting to have an “X-Man” in another country which opens the viewer up to the Japanese traditions. A good watch definitely.
P.S. You need to watch the movie to the very last credit or else you might miss out important stuff.
