Katikiro hits at Ragga Dee, Fik and John Blaq

The Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga,

The Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has proved over time that he is a staunch follower of Ugandan music. On a number of occasions, he has invited some artistes to perform at functions in Mengo and last Sunday while attending Alex Mukulu’s play titled Kulumbisi and Kulunkalu at National Theatre, Mayiga took jibes at Ragga Dee, Fik Fameica and John Blaq.

While making his remarks about quality music, the Katikkiro compared music by Alex Mukulu and the above mentioned artistes.  “In the days of Alex Mukulu, producing a song took long. The days of Ragga Dee, it took a shorter time. In the days of Fik Fameica and John Blaq, it still takes a shorter time because of technology but if you want something good, you have got to take time and the community will always recognise quality,” he stated.

These remarks sent the audience into laughter, especially those who understood his point.
