Can Hannah Karema break Quin Abenakyo’s record?

Quin Abenakyo was voted Miss World Africa and secured the 5th position during the 2018 beauty contest. This marked Uganda’s biggest achievement in the competition that started in 1951 but Abenakyo’s long reign might be broken by Uganda’s current Miss Uganda Hannah Karema Tumukunde.

The reigning Miss Uganda who is currently participating in the 71st Miss World event in Mumbai India has earned a spot in the top 10 finalists of the “Beauty with a Purpose” competition.

Miss Uganda 2023/2024, Hannah Karema, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a spot in the segment at the 71st Miss World event held in Mumbai, India.

The Ugandan beauty will be tussling it out with Miss Indonesia, Miss Nepal, Miss Turkey, Miss Czech Republic, Miss Ukraine, Miss Botswana, Miss Tanzania, Miss Brazil and Miss Trinidad and Tobago for the top slots.

Expressing her exhilaration, Hannah Karema stated, “Thrilled to share that I’ve clinched a spot in the top ten of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose! Grateful for this opportunity to make a difference on a global stage. Thank you all for your unwavering support.”

The “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative, integral to Miss World, inspires young women to champion important charity causes worldwide, reflecting the pageant’s commitment to social responsibility.

Miss World, established in 1951 by Eric Morley in the United Kingdom, stands as the oldest existing international beauty pageant. Following Eric Morley’s passing in 2000, his widow, Julia Morley, co-chaired the pageant. Alongside Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth, Miss World is recognized as one of the Big Four beauty pageants.

Managed by the Miss World Organization, the annual Miss World Finals have grown into one of the largest global competitions. Since its inception, the Miss World organization has raised over £1 billion for children’s charities, supporting disabled and underprivileged children worldwide. With franchises in more than 100 countries, Miss World serves as a platform to empower young women and motivate them to create or support meaningful charitable causes globally.
