The Asfas might never come back – Abryanz

Bryan Ahumuza, alias Abryanz with Judith Heard at last year’s award ceremony.

The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (Asfas) last happened in 2022 and that might perhaps be the last edition of Uganda’s prestigious fashion awards show, going by what we heard recently. According to the proprietor, Bryan Ahumuza, alias Abryanz, he is now concentrating on the Kampala Brunch which is stress-free and makes him more money.

“The Kampala Brunch is less stressful, has about 300 to 500 people, simple and a smaller version of Asfas. It happens every month, makes me more money, connects me to different people and easy to execute, Ahumuza said.

He added that as a creative, he has held the Asfas for eight year and according to the stylist, “I became bored with my own work. Every year people would come to Serena all dressed up, walk on the walkway and nothing else apart from paying Shs300,000 and Shs5m.”
