Chaos erupts at Zzina awards between Alien Skin and Fik Gaza camps

What seemed to be a night of celebration of Ugandan music turned chaotic when rival gangs clashed at the just concluded Zzina Awards.

On Thursday evening at IUEA Auditorium in Kansanga, Alien Skin, and Fik Gaza camps engaged in fighting, resulting in the event being paused for an hour.

The chaos started when Fik Gaza who broke away from Alien Skin’s camp a few years back was on stage performing his Sanyu song and while there, Alien Skin’s gang approached the stage where Fik Gaza was singing and started throwing bottles and insults at him.

This is when Fik Gaza’s gang intervened and attacked their rivals. A few punches and bottles were thrown at each other before the fight was stopped after one of Alien Skin’s gang members used pepper spray.

It was then that police intervened to separate both camps who continued chanting and warning each other.

This is the second time in less than ten days that both camps are fighting and during last week’s altercation, some people were hospitalized.
