Lyrical G drops comeback album

Many young people may not recognise Lyrical G, but those that understand hip hop can possibly call him Uganda’s Jay-Z. A bit of a stretch, huh? But truth be told, Lyrical G, real name Jeff Kintu, is a respected man in Uganda’s hip hop industry. Last Monday the artiste made a comeback with the release of a new album, Geezy. Among the notable people in attendance was Unique, St Nellysade and emcees.

Geezy is Lyrical G’s 10th album, coming after Live From East Africa, Narudi, 1st & Flow Most, Tha GMC Project, Simple & Plain, 1st & Flow Most II, Back 2 Basics, Grown Man Talk, Feel Good Music and Life Lessons, TBA.

According to the artiste, this album is special because most of the tracks feature other artistes and he has only three singles off the album. The first track on the album is a dedication to his late brother A Kay 47, and other songs such as Been bout My Thang features GNL Zamba while Tha Life features Unique.
The four-time Pearl of Africa Music Award winner’s album was written and produced by Lyrical G himself.
