Latitude 0° gives Makindye a different feel

One of the bars at Latitude Kampala

Makindye is a one the surbs that surround Kampala and it is known as a home for most Ugandan musicians. However, this is about to change as a mega hotel has been put up in Makindye. The hotel that is one of the Latitude hotels that are all over Africa is called Latitude 0°. This follows the opening of similar facilities in Malawi and Zambia in 2012 and 2014, respectively.

Talking a tour around the hotel last week, there was something different and unique about this property and yes it is the décor. The hotel is decorated with only vintage pieces from all parts Africa right from the exterior to the interior something that catches someone’s eye the moment they get in.
The hotel has three restaurants and bars, creating culinary delights that fuse together flavors from all corners of the world, and offering an alluring array of wines curated from some of the most renowned estates on the continent.

The hotel’s 47 spacious guest rooms and suites are of varying sizes bedecked with luxurious linens, fabrics and furniture, and bespoke artwork – offering both full-size bath and walk-in shower. Whether you are visiting for business, or just stopping over on your way to or from your safari adventures, each room makes use of natural light and plentiful tree canopies to create spaces that are soothing and stylish – with every amenity a traveler needs in a home away from home.
