Making her debut at the international awards, Hellen Lukoma will be glad to have scored highly. For the 1st time, Hellen was nominated for an international recognition in May at the prestigious BEFFTA awards. Pitting her up against Nigeria’s Wema Eepetu, Eniola badmus, the legendary Mercy Johnson, Weru Cheopia a U.K-based Nigerian film and stage actress and entrepreneur, Miss Tanzania 2006 Wema Sepetu and Ghana’s Joselyn Dumas., her debut looked like a David Vs Goliath and just like in the bible, David won.

Hellen Lukoma was named the winner of the BEFFTA Best African actress award at a function that was held in London this week.
BEFFTA awards were founded by Pauline Long after she organized after Mr and Miss East Africa UK for many years. The Awards are aimed at honoring the outstanding achievements and contributions in showbiz and entertainment in the black and ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Africa, Caribbean, Canada and globally.
