This is one video that saved an ailing audio. Obubadi is one hilarious video, and that’s one thing that Captain Dollar seems to effect in all his music videos. It begins off with Captain Dollar in his suspenders and orange trousers parking a vintage blue Volkswagen Beetle (Kikere) in front of the gates of a nice house. Captain Dollar is a star-comedian in his videos, he is the human rendition of a musical rat.
The effects employed in the music video though amateurish, stress the point with humour. Like those fumes from the car and the bullet shots from Captain Dollar’s shot-gun as he chases one of the men who tried to vibe his girlfriend. The outdoor location setting was well-mastered, the colour and lighting are also commendable. The video also goes ahead to show us, that it’s only in Uganda where a candle-light dinner is organised in broad-day light. The storyline is well-executed and the Captain’s owl-eyes rubber-stamp the human touch.
The girls in the video are super wild, I hope, the virgin boy aka Captain Dollar did not “beat any rats” during the video shooting. And the killer moment came at the end when a guy took off his shirt to show off his ‘well-built body.’
However, there are the many static bodies in the video. I found some of the extras in the video irrelevant and boring. For those with eye problems, the continuous fast-forwarding effects though important, are over-done at some points. This also gets to spoil the audio-visual sync. For the stressed humans, Obubadi is one music video to catch on one’s screens. It’s simple yet witty and memorable. The Grate Make guys who made the video deserve the credit.
