Ben Mwine is a renowned city events host, especially in the born again circles. He is one of the brains behind the Phat Fest concerts that bring in international gospel stars annually. Mwine is also famous as the controversial BBA2 field presenter who was made to apologise in front of a congregation at Kampala Pentecostal Church (now Watoto) because of his stint with the Big Brother show that was considered a secular for a man who was also working at Power FM that the church runs.
We were reliably informed back then, that Mwine had to apologise before he could get the job of Station Manager at Power FM (a born again FM station) but during the same year, Ben Mwine also made news after he survived an accident that involved the president’s convoy. Mwine is said to have threatened to drag the president’s guards to court but he was called on a round table and perhaps issues were resolved amicably.
And after surviving the nasty accident, Mwine decided to propose to his girlfriend Rachael Arinaitwe, currently a news anchor on NTV Uganda. And quite some years down the road, Mwine has decided to formalise their relationship in church. Mwine and Arinaitwe will be officially declared husband and wife on Saturday September 28. The two will be united at Watoto Church before they treat their guests to a “glamorous” reception to be held in one of the top hotels around town. Congs Ben and Rachael. Please do not forget to send our invites.
