Zambian singer Mampi did not perform in Kampala on New Year’s Eve as she had earlier told us. Word is that the yet to be identified Ugandan promoter who had booked Mampi for a show in Kampala was advised against holding the show on New Year’s Eve. “The show was pushed to sometime in February,” said Mampi’s manager Vicky, who is also her sister.
However, Mampi’s team is not happy with singer Ragga Dee whom they accused of copyright infringement for a song he recorded that sounds just like Mampi’s monster hit Swilili. Another source close to Mampi told us that when she heard Ragga Dee’s version of Mampi’s song and she was sad that Ragga Dee did not even contact them to seek for permission to redo the song.
“We are looking into that matter with our legal team, they will take the required legal steps,” the source said. Over to you, Ragga Dee!
