LUSWATA
Theatre Factory comedian and actor Philip Luswata has been off the scene since his weekly Thursday comedy night at National Theatre failed to get a sizeable loyal crowd. This came as a result of several actors and actresses deserting his group to start up the current day Fun Factory.
But that doesn’t mean Luswata has been sleeping. The latest is that he has clinched a mega deal that will see him earn tens of thousands of dollars from the Southern Sudan. Uganda’s northern neighbours recently approved Luswata’s Theatre Factory as the new agency to do several health campaigns across the new state using drama.
Although Luswata’s known phone was off, a source close to the actor told us that Luswata’s deal is worth hundreds of thousands of US dollars. “He has bought a road show truck and lots of equipment that he is going to use during road trips to different areas of Southern Sudan to sensitise people about several health issues.”
