Ekimuli Kya Rosa is one of the local love songs that have stood the test of time. It is more popular during February, the month that’s been christened the ‘month of love’, during which the St Valentine’s Day celebrated

Ironically, Maiso the singer behind this romantic hit passed on a day to Valentine’s Day early this year. He was also a founding member and director in Eagles Production.
In Uganda the culture of redoing good music is gaining popularity, ever since the efforts to musically commemorate Philly Lutaaya’s legacy, through redoing his songs, in 2007.

New generation artiste Coco Finger has remixed Ekimuli Kya Rose, giving it a dancehall tempo. The original is a slower version which did not have a music video.  Recently, Coco Finger followed his audio remix with a music video which he released recently.

“I have always loved this song. At first I was not sure of who sang the song but loved the song so much. In fact, at first thought it was Ronald Mayinja’s. So one time while on our way to Bundibujo the song was played on radio. I told my former manager, Emma Carlos (Mulondo) that I wanted to remix the song,” Coco Finger recalls.

Carlos went ahead to call Maiso who accepted to sing the chorus in the remix, but regrettably fell ill. “I was shaken and demoralised but after some time I convinced myself that I could actually do the song and release it,” Coco recollects.
The music video is a colourful video with feel-good concept, and shot in a number of locations around Wandegeya, Kasubi, Nakulabye, Kololo and at Crystal Clear studios in Kololo with Barbed Wire Thong. Frank Kasumba of Jahlive shot the music video.
