Now streaming on Netflix

Jenna (Union) goes from successful magazine editor in a 10-year committed relationship to being jobless, single, living in her parents’ house. After her mother asks her to leave, she goes to Darcy, who doesn’t like her much but runs a magazine.

Darcy gives her the job and pairs her up with her son, Eric (Powers). The two are supposed to work on content to promote the magazine. Small problem. Eric and Jenna met the previous night at a party and shared a steamy kiss. The two are definitely feeling each other but they have the age difference and Darcy to think about. That’s the Perfect Find’s plot in a nutshell.

The Perfect Find is a beautiful movie, visually speaking. The sets have that colourful, vintage vibe that matches the music and the content of the movie. The wardrobe also fits in just right. The story is cliche in some places, especially at the start so you might take a while to get into it. But when you get into it, it’s a nice, chill watch.

Away from the slow start, the movie treats drug use very casually, which is something anyone watching with underage peeps should keep in mind. Besides the drug use, the other adult content are sex scenes, some suggestive. But Netflix has also normalised these so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

A quick, easy watch for the weekend.
