Outdoor events have earned a place on the Uganda events calendar and among them is the ‘Short Na Leesu’ event.  ‘Short Na Leesu’ might sound like a new event to many but the picnic style kind of event has been happening for three years in a row.

The 4th edition will take place this year at Dungu Resort Munyonyo Lakeside, a private beach that is under construction. Before August 24, the D-day slated for the fourth edition of ‘Shorts Na Leesu’, the media was invited for the launch and they got the feel of the event before the general public.

Joined by a few revelers who were on invite-only, the revelers had a feel of the new venue for the festival. While at the launch, two things were announced by the organisers. First was, Nigerian star Nonso Amadi who will be the headlining act at this year’s event. Nonso will perform alongside Ugandan acts like Kohen Jayce of Bantu vibes, Route 316 Band featuring DJ Siza, DJ Ssese among others. Nonso is popularly known for his hit song ‘Tonight’.

The second announcement was Ciroc coming on board as the official partner of the event for the next subsequent editions. At the launch, the DJ kept on playing mostly Nigerian music perhaps because the headlining act is from Nigeria.

Free snacks and Ciroc cocktails were on the house for the media and invited guests.  ‘Shorts Na Leesu’ was initiated in 2016 by Phillip Matovu formerly a S.6 Vacist at Kings College Budo.
