Graduation list was printed before Abenakyo cleared- MUBS

Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo meets Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe

The Spokesperson Makerere University Business School Peter Odoki has dismissed reports that Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo was not qualified to graduate last week.

Chatting with our reporter, Odoki said the graduation booklet was printed before the beauty queen cleared with the institution.

“Hey. The story circulating about Abenakyo is false. She completed her course Bachelor of Business Computing. Her name was read first. Not in the book because it was printed before she cleared,” he said.

However, according to Makerere University website, to graduate from the institution, graduands are required to have successfully cleared with their Academic Units, Halls of Residence, as well as the University Library, Hospital, Police Station and Finance Department.

When contacted, the acting University Vice Chancellor Eria Hisali the university would crosscheck and find out the truth.

“There are systems at Makerere university which can be used to follow up students even when they have left the University,” he said.
