Navio and Lethal in MC Afrique tribute song

Navio

Navio

You guys remember the late MC Afrique, right? Yes of course, because Afrique is like the Run DMC of Uganda’s hip-hop. He is the grandfather of hip hop and he signified the advent of the new school of hip hop music in Uganda. And the hip hop fraternity knows and respects that.

One of Uganda’s leading hip hop artistes Navio has gone ahead and remixed one of Afrique’s greatest tunes titled Watoto w’Africa.

Navio features one of the most promising hip-hop artistes Lethal, who also happens to be Afrique’s blood brother on the tune which was redone under the guidance of showbiz-legend-turned-politician Peter Sematimba. The redone track carries an original opening verse from Afrique.

“He inspired me to do what I do and Navio says the same good words about him,” said Lethal of Afrique’s influence on the hip-hop. “It is very sad when you hear hip-hop artistes of today talk of how they struggled to make hip hop work here and forget the money who started the revolution.

He is simply legendary and he deserves our recognition all time.”
The remix was an idea of Row Records label and it was produced at Talent Africa with the financial backing of Cedric Babu of Kinetic Entertainment.
