Prof Barya’s message to Christine Nampeera backfires

Former presidential candidate, Prof Venansius Baryamureeba has found himself in an uncomfortable position after what he thought was a social media troll against socialite and online influencer, Christine Nampeera, backfired.

The Uganda Technology and Management University boss faced a backlash over his Monday reply to Nampeera’s post about her graduation, in which he seemed to remind her of her recent leaked s3x tape.

“Parents’ blessings are like a gentle breeze that guides me through life’s journey, filling my heart with love, hope, and warmth. Their unwavering support, love and wishes are the greatest treasures i hold close to my heart. I love you Mum and Dad,” the online influencer posted on her X (formerly Twitter) handle days after she graduated with a Bachelors in Software Engineer.
In his post, the former Makerere University VC said, “”Do they know about other public act? Congratulations.”

The over 300 replies to the professor’s post slammed him, with many asking him to delete the post and threatening to unveil his ‘skeletons’ during the time he was at the helm of Makerere University.

But in her rebuttal, Nampeera said the “whole world, including my parents, knows about.”

“I hope when your skeletons are exposed your children will stick by you the way my parents stuck by me.”
