32 beauty queens from different regions were unveiled last Saturday evening at Kampala Serena Hotel ahead of the grand finale set for September 9 at the same venue.
The girls from 12 regions such as Kigezi, Karamoja, Teso, Tooro, Ankole and Buganda are the regional representatives in the competition that has been going on for months.
There will be an elimination night later this month at Aara Fish Lounge in Adjumani. Here, the finalists will be selected to compete for the crown.
According to the Public Relations Miss Tourism Sandra Nguna Ssesazi one of the elements that made one eligible to join the competition was age and their marital status.
“Different regions are participating among others and the criteria wasn’t complicated. We were looking for a queen that doesn’t exceed 27 years, is not married and has no child with at least a senior six certificate,” she said.
Sandra further said that the voting process is starting soon and is going to be online where the winner will have five days of a paid vacation trip to Zanzibar besides being crowned Miss Tourism popularity advancing to the top five finalists in the contest as well. “So we encourage people to vote for their favorite contestants the best way they can.” She added.
