David Lutalo beats Winnie Nwagi, Azawi and Fik Famica for press Bpabeio award

David Lutalo

From having a successful concert a couple of weeks ago at Hotel Africana, artiste David Lutalo was crowned the personality of the month in the first edition of the Press Bpabeio Awards that were held at Russell Hotel over the weekend.

The Kabisi kandagala artiste was better off than Vyper Rankings, Spice Diana, Fik Fameica, Liam Voice, Winnie Nwanji, Azawi, Martha Mukisa and Karole Kasita who were also nominees in this category.

Amos Lovinz scooped the Must Watch Award where he was nominated against musicians Vyroota, Acidic Vokoz, Tyana Bax and King Fa while Nkulinako Crush hit singer Acidic Vokoz UG won the Appreciation Award for his talent.

The first edition saw different media personnel gathering at the Russell Hotel to witness a new door being opened for these fresh awards.

Unlike different awarding ceremonies that happen once a year, Press Bpabeio Awards are going to be happening six times a year, appreciating and handing out accolades to deserving people every after two months.

The awarding ceremony was initiated by Metro FM radio presenter Omusawo Tintah Deogratius who promised to keep them true to the roots of appreciating everybody who does an outstanding job for the Music Industry.

He was accompanied by Mutebi Ramathan aka Lord Bitem, the Uganda Musician Association (UMA) Chief Whip who represented the association and applauded the Awards’ transparency.

Only 3 accolades are to be handed out every after 2 months and these include;

  1. Best Personality
  2. Must Watch Talent
  3. Appreciation Award
