Zahara Abdul shortlisted for International Photography Exhibition

Popular photographer Zahara Abdul has mastered the art of scaling international heights with her latest nod coming in from The Royal Photographic Society, United Kingdom. The self-styled documentary photographer took to her Instagram to share her delight with her followers.

Starting off with an “overwhelmed” emoticon, she wrote, “Delighted and immensely honoured to be shortlisted for the International Photography Exhibition 163…”

Abdul is among 279 photographers shortlisted from 50 countries across the globe to exhibit their art on a grand global scale. The shortlist consists of photographs from her project “Get on Board”, which features young skateboarders on the outskirts of Kigali taken during a Photojournalism Workshop in 2019. This is not the first time Abdul is waving the Ugandan flag high through photography. In 2017, she got first place at a photo competition in Berlin, ahead of fellow countryman Andrew Kartende.  She has worked on multiple projects such as the movie “27 Guns”, where she was the official photographer. Congrats Abdul!
