Music promoter Suudiman real names Suudi Lukwago has told local musicians intending to join politics to take it slow.
Suudi, who was appearing on NBS TV recently observed that a number of musicians have shown interests in joining politics basing on Bobi Wine’s landslide victory in the Kyaddondo East by-elections.
To Suudi, those musicians are day dreaming and they should instead focus on the betterment of their music careers other than building castles in the air.
“Artistes who think they can achieve exactly that which Bobi wine has achieved are daydreaming, Bobi Wine is on another level. Actually, those musicians should stick to music and make money instead of getting campaign loans which will put them behind bars after losing the elections,” he said.
He added that Bobi Wine is a man of demonstrated leadership capability noting that he did not contest just from the blue.
“Bobi Wine didn’t just wake up and dream of becoming a politician, he started way back with his music which had messages carrying his political aspirations, so I urge other musicians not to be swayed by his win to determine their fate,” he said.
Soon after the Ghetto president’s win, a number of musicians came out and revealed their intentions of contesting in different constituencies where they hail from come 2021.
