Angella Katatumba tussles it out with big artistes

The last few months have not had major concerts and now they will all be heaped on us this weekend. Smh! Apart from Chameleone who changed dates from May 19 to 26 and finally June 30, South African Singer PJ Powers will also have her charity show on the same date with Chameleone, Zimbabwean Singer Oliver Mtukudzi will also headline a show at Serena Hotel on the same date. And as though the competition is not stiff enough, Angella Katatumba has also confirmed her charity concert on the same date.
When you put all these on a weighing scale, the two weigh more than Katatumba but she has no reason to change to another date.
Katatumba, who will be at Hotel Africana Nile Hall headlining a charity drive, will be fundraising for the construction of a home for Angel’s Center children with special needs located in Nansana to increase the number of children from 30 to at least 300.
Speaking to Katatumba, she said she was not about competition with the other artistes. “My concert is meant for charity and I am looking forward to Ugandans who are willing to give back to the needy,” Katatumba said.
At the beginning of the week, Katatumba partnered with Diplomatic Corps to hand over a cheque of Shs185m to the Uganda Cancer Institute in support of her “Mulago Yaffe” campaign.
