Baganda will say they ‘bathed her kyogero’, but because Sqoop is not Baganda, we shall just keep awing at the luck…no, success Sheebah Karungi keeps enjoying since last year.
As you read this, the singer is doing her final twerk rehearsals ahead of her Nkwatako album launch tonight at Hotel Africana. And before she even steps on stage for her debut concert, word reaching us is that Sheebah has already bagged Shs160m.
Here is the thing: When Sheebah announced that she will be having her concert later this year, events promoter Musa Kavuma of KT promotions was quick to buy off the concert at a whooping Shs80m. This meant that Sheebah’s job would be to just appear and perform.
And then being Africell Brand Ambassador, the telecom company at a press conference earlier in the week gave the singer Shs80m to boost the show. “Yes, I am Shs160 million rich, but it does not mean I am going to eat this money alone, I am going to spend this money on making sure I give my fans the best musical experience,” Sheebah said.
Does that mean free drinks at the gate? lol!
